The Waddington Medal
The Waddington Medal is the Society’s most prestigious prize, being awarded to an outstanding individual who has made major contributions to any aspect of Developmental Biology in the UK. The medal is awarded annually at the international BSDB Spring Meeting where the recipient will present the Waddington lecture.
The Cheryll Tickle Medal
The Cheryll Tickle Medal is awarded annually to a mid-career, female scientist for her outstanding achievements in the field of Developmental Biology. The medal is received at the BSDB Spring Meeting, where the recipient presents the Cheryll Tickle Award Lecture.
The Beddington Medal
The Beddington Medal is a major commendation of the Society awarded for the best PhD thesis in Developmental Biology of the year. The medal is received at the international BSDB Spring Meeting where the recipient will present the Beddington lecture.
The Wolpert Medal
The Wolpert medal is the Society’s most recent prize, being awarded to an outstanding individual who has made major contributions to the teaching and communication of Developmental Biology in the UK.
The Dennis Summerbell Lecture Award
The BSDB has instituted the Dennis Summerbell Lecture Award, to be delivered at its annual Autumn Meeting by a junior researcher at either PhD or Post-doctoral level. The awardee’s costs for attending the meeting will be met in full.
The Company of Biologists Gurdon Summer Studentships
The The Company of Biologists Gurdon Summer Studentship scheme provides financial support to allow undergraduate students to undertake practical research during their summer vacation.[/box]
