Developmental Biology course open to Latin American and International applicants.
The faculty, who include Olivier Pourquie, Nipam Patel, Claudio Stern, John Wallingford, Mary Mullins, Alejandro Sanchez-Alvarado, Andrea Streit, among others, will teach hands-on the paradigms, problems and technologies of modern Developmental Biology. The course will start with a plenary lecture by Scott Gilbert about the history and concepts in Developmental Biology.
The course will take place in the southern hemisphere summer (5 – 17 January 2014), in the beautiful fishing village of Quintay-Chile, at the Centre for Marine Biological Research (CIMARQ). The course is intended for Latin American and non-Latin American applicants. Fellowships will be available.

Nominations are invited for the 2013 Beddington Medal for the best graduating PhD student in the field of developmental biology.
The eligibility period covers PhD dissertations submitted anytime during 2012.
The closing date for nominations this year is Monday 7th January, 2013.

The Workshop comprises a Symposium and a Practical Course. The Symposium (March 10th to 12th) is open to anybody interested in mouse embryology and is intended to provide an up to date review of some of the exciting advances in this area, presented within a broad historical perspective. It will be followed by a Practical Course (March 13th to 23rd) aimed to provide complete hands-on experience in mouse genetic and embryological manipulation. One can register for the opening symposium independent of the practical course.
