Meeting grants

BSDB Members can apply for travel grants, and this includes PIs who have no active travel funds. Two grant schemes are in place:

  • BSDB Conference Grants for attendance of BSDB-sponsored meetings cover conference fees and accommodation, but not travel and conference dinners. Several applications from the same group will be considered.
  • The Company of Biologists Travel Grants to attend meetings and courses outside the UK (a proportion of the total cost; max £600), sponsored by The Company of Biologists (the not for profit publisher of Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology, Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open). Only one member of a group will be sponsored for a particular meeting.

Louie Hamilton Fund

Louie Hamilton, the distinguished developmental biologist who was disabled in the latter part of her life, left a bequest to the Society with the intention that the interests should provide travel support for members who are disabled. Applicants who qualify for this fund should contact the Treasurer (treasurer@bsdb.org).
