Every year at the Spring meeting  prizes are awarded for the posters judged to be particularly outstanding in both their content and presentation.

This years winners were

Stephen Fleenor (Begbie lab, University of Oxford) Characterising the role of a regulator of G protein signalling in cranial sensory ganglia formation

Ricardo Laranjeiro (Whitmore lab, University College London) A new link between the zebrafish circadian clock and cell cycle timing

Tom Pettini (Ronshaugen lab, University of Manchester) Transvection of a novel long non-coding RNA mediates Hox gene transcription in Drosophila

The first prize winner received a trip to attend the Society for Developmental Biology (SDB) summer meeting plus £350
The two second prize winners received  £350

The 2012 Beddington medal was presented to Boyan Bonev at the Spring Meeting in Warwick. Boyan carried out his PhD work with Nancy Papalopulu in Manchester on the role of a microRNA in neural development.

Congratulations to Alfonso Martinez Arias (Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge), who received the 2012 Waddington medal at the Spring Meeting in Warwick

Our next meeting will be the 2012 Autumn Conference 2-6 September 2012

The 2012 Autumn Conference, co-sponsored with EMBO, is the Molecular and Cellular Basis of Regeneration and Tissue Repair to be held at St Catherine’s College, Oxford 2-6 September 2012.

There will be a £50 discount on the registration fee for BSDB members.
BSDB travel grants are available for this meeting.
